Chilled (#2) just couldn’t keep cool in the stretch at Churchill Downs Friday - he wanted to win so much that he reached over and bit Zimmer (#4), the horse who galloped next to him! Chilled prevailed by a nose, but the stewards weren’t about to allow this case of bad sportsmanship. Chilled was disqualified and placed second.
It’s a rare event when a horse bites, or “savages” another during a race, but it is evidence of the competitive spirit and fire in Thoroughbreds!
